Andrea Stagg advises the SUNY Colleges at New Paltz, Oneonta, and Plattsburgh on all legal matters, and is the System-wide expert in Title IX compliance, state authorization, and intercollegiate athletics. Recently, she led SUNY through a Title IX compliance review by the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR).
Since the publication of the April 4, 2011 Dear Colleague Letter (DCL), Andrea has provided frequent in-person training to college and university employees all over New York on best practices for campus safety and Title IX compliance, including training guidelines, student conduct implications, and the responsibilities for human resource professionals and law enforcement. She has also presented nationally to higher education professionals about Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act. Andrea is the author of two peer-reviewed NACUA Notes with one in progress.
Andrea graduated with high honors from Rutgers University and received her law degree from The George Washington University.
