Sarah Rankin is the Title IX Coordinator for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she manages all investigations of sexual assault/harassment, relationship violence, and stalking; develops policies and procedures; conducts training across the Institute; and manages Federal and State compliance efforts. Formerly, she was the Director of Harvard University’s Office of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response for seven years and spent six years as the Violence Against Women Act Grant Program Director at Western Washington University. She has coordinated large peer education programs on both campuses focused on sexual assault prevention efforts. She has spoken at national and international conferences on best-practices for developing prevention and intervention programs. Before beginning a career within Higher Education, she worked with sexual assault and domestic violence survivors for 10 years at a community based agency. She earned her master’s degree in Psychology from Western Washington University in 1996.
